Adaptation and mitigation are very important to protect the ecosystem from these negative impacts. Global initiatives to limit greenhouse gas emissions, replant forests and protect existing conservation areas are key steps. Activities such as rehabilitation of degraded land and sustainable resource management can strengthen ecosystem resilience to climate change. Climate change also has broad socio-economic impacts.
